NEWS PAPER REVIEW:
Model L780 Uses Auxiliary Battery Pack to Achieve Milestone
AUSTIN, TX — (MARKET WIRE) — July 17, 2006 — Imagine leaving your car parked and easily gliding to your local store or restaurant without actually using any gas — getting what you need — and returning for less than a penny in transportation cost. R Martin electric bikes are alternative plug-in electric transportation that you charge by plugging into a wall outlet and use only pennies of electricity per charge.
R Martin bikes are tested for distance and compared to the cost of gas to come up with an equivalent MPG figure that our customers can use to see how much money can be saved by leaving the car parked and riding our electric bikes. Our model L780 is our most powerful and also has an auxiliary battery option. The L780 still held a charge after our test ride of over 40 miles with both batteries installed. It cost less than 7.5 cents to fully charge the batteries — providing the equivalent of over 2000 MPG based on $3/gallon gas.
“We are pleased to be able to offer clean, affordable alternative transportation to our customers. Our L780 is truly a remarkable value, said Randall Schleier, Sales Director for R Martin Bikes.
“While there is a lot of hype surrounding hybrid and electric vehicles, electric bikes are reliable and cost effective today. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on gas/electric hybrids to ‘go green.’ Our electric bikes allow you to leave the car parked so you won’t use any gas and won’t contribute to the green house gas problem,” continued Mr Schleier.
R Martin electric bikes are designed for urban or neighborhood environments. Electric bikes typically get a range of between 15 to 30 miles per charge. This makes them perfect for short trips around your local area. While there are many electric scooters around, electric bikes have the added advantage of allowing the rider to add power by pedaling. This can dramatically increase the range. Starting off from a dead stop and climbing hills consumes many times more power than traveling on flat ground. Just light pedaling to start off and on hills will lower the power requirement to a minimum. That is why electric bikes are the most practical form of plug-in electric.
R Martin bikes are tested in real-world conditions using a 180 lb rider. Range will vary depending on weight of rider, road conditions, tire inflation, and wind.
